港督彭定康最近回伦敦述职前举行记者招待。，记者问他人民入境务处前处长梁铭彦的廉正操守有有信，问他觉梁铭彦是不是一位色的处长。港督回答两问题很技巧，很简明。原话是说的：

记者的一问题分三部分：一、梁铭彦退休前的廉正操守有有充分的信；二、现在梁铭彦的专业操守有有信；三、有有任何外国政府警告香港政府提防他。港督的回应分三部分：一、公务员务司在立法局及其他方回应些问题，我不说；二、人民入境务处前处长因人理由离职；三、我有了一位色的处长接替他的职位，我我的入境制度、签证制度及边防巡逻等的廉正操守信十足。记者提外国政府警告港府，有提入境制度、签证制度、边防巡逻。记者的二问题问港督认不认梁铭彦是一位色的处长。港督说他在香港政府工年；关於他的离职，已经说了，港督不愿意再说。
